Websites have gone from being a convenience to a necessity for individuals and organizations. Although the technology for building Websites is just a decade old, many rules and conventions have been developed:
- Website visitors want an easy-to-use, clean and purposeful interface
- Website visitors want clear, understandable text and images
- Website visitors want the pertinent information to be structured in a meaningful and sensible way
Additionally, it has become the standard to utilize a central source for all the formatting on a Website (CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets) that allows for quick and easy changes sitewide, whether the site has six pages or six hundred. It also allows for content management for the non-web savvy so you don't need to contact the Web designer every time you need to change something on your site.
Grapnel Media can help you get the professional Website you need at a reasonable cost. We can also help analyze your existing site to determine usability, flexibility and ADA compliance.

Amber Martin is a performance artist based in Manhattan. She wanted a fun Website that showcases her unique comedic and musical stylings. Additionally, she needed a rudimentary content-management system that would allow her to update shows, personal asides and other data. She also wanted it to have bubbles.
Grapnel's solution was to design Amby a flash Website that also hooked up to a popular blogging software. From there, she can upload schedules, announcements and even images.

The Franklin House is a Tucson historical residence that doubles as a very popular spot for weddings and parties. They needed a clean, easy-to-use Website that told the story of the house, showed pictures and maps and also allowed users to send requests for booking information.
Grapnel's solution was to design a Flash Website that showcased the house's rich history and desirability as a wedding and party spot. There was also, at the client's request, a non-Flash html site as well.

Grapnel designed a flexible interface with a tiered dropdown menu and an icon-based search interface.
This website is now defunct.
The Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA needed a new Website. They approached the Portland design firm Pixelface, who then came to Grapnel to design their proposal. In addition to many other materials, Grapnel redesigned the Chrysler Museum Website to include new, tiered navigation as well as a content management system. This presentation also featured a Flash-driven virtual gallery that allowed the entire museum catalogue to be displayed.

JR. Wrangler was a suite of ultra-cheap Websites marketed by the Flying I Ranch in Portland. Aimed at the budget-conscious, these no-frills sites were priced at 295.oo a year including hosting. Although simple. this Website featured a unique Flash-driven site configuration utility, the Site Wrangler, which allowed users to select layouts and color schemes online with no human interaction required. Unfortunately, the Ranch was unable to maintain that price point and still make a profit, so the project was pulled after a year or so.
